On The Course May 9th

Ladies Scramble Event on May 2nd
We received another 1.5 inches of rain overnight and the golf course is pretty wet. We will be assessing the golf course this morning for playability. The crew will be working on pumping out some low areas as well as finishing up the bunker edging project. If we do not receive any more rain this morning we will be mowing greens and setting the course up for play. We will be cart path only today and probably tomorrow with the wet conditions.

We have been working on charging the irrigation system this week and only have found a couple of small leaks. Corey and Jenna have a couple of them fixed but we have a couple more to go on the back nine. There is a quick coupler off of the steel main line that is leaking on #12 right in the middle of the landing area. These areas are marked with stakes and should be avoided with all traffic.

We will be aerifying greens on Monday, May 12th. The weather does not look promising for Monday but we are hopeful to get the work done. We will be using a 8mm solid tine on the greens similar to what we did last spring. We will topdressing the greens lightly with sand, needle tine and roll the greens. This process will be minimally disruptive and the playability of the surface should be back to normal in a couple of days. Fairway aerification will also be started next week. This process will involve scarifying the fairway, topdressing with sand and brushing the sand into the turf canopy.

We will be having a Grounds Committee meeting on May 20th at 2:00pm. We will cover course conditions, equipment update and a report from the Maintenance Facility Committee.
