On The Course February 28th

Troy Poppitz made quick work of the pond excavation this past week
We are experiencing some warm weather this February and we have been able to get some work done on the golf course. The pond project is in full speed and they have the rough grade done around the new pond. We are looking at the tee and bunker project on 16 starting in April and maybe sooner if the weather we have sticks around. We have a few tree removals to still complete this winter as well as some pruning. The course accessories and equipment is almost done being refurbished.

We have been really busy all winter and will continue right into the golf season. If we recieve no snow in the near future I would anticipate a chance to get the golf course open early. We have several weeks before we can really look at what the timing would be as our normal opening date is April 9-12th. The turf looks good right now under the covers and the fairways have wintered very well. We will see what Mother Nature has in store over the next couple of weeks but the staff is looking forward to getting the projects complete and the golf course open.

We have to let the soil dry out a bit before it can be finish graded

Looking from 5 tee back up 10 where the new pond rough grading is done

Water starting to fill the new pond on 10
