On The Course May 16th

Interesting spot on #3 where the divot was seeded last fall and survived the winter
We have had a busy week so far getting some projects done and working on fairway aerification. Our aerification process on the fairways consist of using the Weidenmann Super 500 flail mower to lightly verticut/scarify the surface. We are also pulling 3/4" hollow cores in some of the ice damaged areas of the fairway. We have completed #1, 2 and 18. We will be working on #3 and #9 this morning. The cored areas will be hand topdressed with sand and seed. We will be working on the rest of the fairways into next week and should have them all done by the end of next week.

Troy has been working on the irrigation system and has most of the major problems fixed and we are going to start to work on checking nozzles and sprinkler drives to make sure everything is operating correctly. We will be charging up the second irrigation motor later today and should have the system at full capacity later this week.

Next week we will be working on tee aerification and finishing up the fairway aerification process. We will continue to seed and sod areas of the fairways as well as apply some additional fertilizer. Our plan is to keep using triplex greens mowers on the greens until late next week and then we will switch over to the walk mowers for the remainder of the season. By using the triplex mowers it helps us allocate some labor to other tasks on the golf course at this time in the season.

Part of #18 fairway was aerified and seeded yesterday

We have been out spraying weeds in native areas as well as bunker banks
