Thunderhead from yesterday just north of the golf course. |
The second round of the Club Championship finished yesterday with an impressive score of 70 posted by Tony Ahl. The course was set up to be a real challenge with several tough pin locations.
Today we are mowing and rolling greens and they are rolling smooth and true. We had several thunderstorms in the area yesterday afternoon but we did not recieve any rain overnight. We had reached the wilting point on most of the fairways yesterday. They all were showing signs of needing some irrigation. We have watered the course lightly overnight and in my drive around this morning it appears we should still have the firm conditions we had yesterday for the final round. Jason and Justin have done a great job this weekend getting the course ready for the tournament. The staff has done a great job over the past couple of weeks with the weather challenges keeping the course in the best possible condition.
We will be following the final group today addressing any stress issues with the turf and watching the final group complete the Championship.
