We have a couple more days of cooler weather this week and then it looks like it should warm up for the weekend. The irrigation system is almost completely charged and we have seen a couple of leaks but I had expected more with the cold bare winter. Kurt has been busy fixing those leaks and will be backfilling #7 and #12 today. Nick has been on the tractor with the deep tine and has almost all of the fairways done. We still have some peat soil areas to do but will be waiting on those until later this spring. This is a really good project to have done and we will be looking at adding some sand to the fairways in the next couple of weeks.

We will be working on the irrigation for the tee complex on #13 over the next couple of days. The tee top will be finished later this week or early next week. We will start on #17 tee soon and will hopefully have those projects wrapped up before the end of April. Nick will be starting to work on plugging a few of the greens that have a little bit of damage from winter on them.

We are having a Grounds Meeting today at 3pm and there will be a Town Hall Meeting tomorrow at 7pm to update the Membership on the Land Purchase and Capital projects.

On The Course April 16th, 2015

 We are working on some small detail projects today and will be charging the irrigation system. The process of charging the irrigation is usually a pretty slow process and we will be working on some of the front nine today. The possibility of irrigation leaks after the winter we have had is typically higher with the level of frost we had in the ground. If you are on the course and see some water sitting where it shouldn't don't hesitate to call the Pro Shop and let them know about it. The staff will be moving throughout the course looking for leaks and working on charging the system today. If we have a marking flag or green and white stake near the leak we have identified it and will be getting it corrected as soon as possible.

The rough has started to grow a little and we will be allowing carts off the path starting on Friday. We still ask you use the path as much as possible and stay on the path around all greens and tees. Signs will be out directing where to get back on the path. We would like all carts to remain on the paths on the Par 3 holes and will have some holes designated as cart path only occasionally. If we get into a cold stretch of weather and the rough starts to get thinned out we might have to go back to paths only. We have typically kept the carts on the paths until May 1st but we have had some good weather.

If you have been on the course this week you have noticed we began working on regarding the Green and White tee on #13. This is part of our Master Plan and will be working on completing the tee early next week.

On The Course April 12th, 2015

We had a very good day Saturday. The crew mowed and rolled the greens. The greens are starting to grow a little and with the warm temperatures we expect them to really change over the next couple of days. We have a few spots of Crown Hydration on a few greens. Most of the damaged areas will grow out of it but we are anticipating plugging a few spots on 10 green and a couple other small areas. The crew has done a great job this past week getting the course cleaned up and ready for golf despite the snow showers and cold weather.

 

 

We will be rolling greens today and changing pin locations. Moises will be moving tee markers and the rest of the staff will be raking bunkers. It is supposed to be another warm day but the wind is already blowing. They are forecasting some spotty showers this afternoon and evening. We will be starting some projects this next week and will be sending some updates out.
