On The Course April 9th, 2015

 The weather has not been the best but we have been able to get out on the course and get some detail projects done. The crew has been cleaning the brush and debris off of the fairways and rough areas throughout the course. We rolled the greens on Wednesday and changed pin locations. There is a significant chance of rain today and we will be working on shop projects today. The forecast for the weekend is looking very good.

The crew has been working on some drainage basin repair as well as some edging for the flower beds. The turf areas are just starting to get going and we have seen a nice green hue to the ground over the past couple of days. A nice sunny warm day will really help get the turf growing. Corey Heasley and Jeff Hall have set up the deep tine aerifier and we will be looking at getting some fairways solid tined and rolled this next week. This will be minimally disruptive to the fairways and it will be a good time to get the process started. We also will be looking at getting some topdressing on the fairways as soon as they start to grow.

On The Course April 2nd, 2015

Sod in the bunkers will be replaced today

The golf course received a little bit of rain overnight and we avoided any damage from the storms. There are a few small branches down throughout the golf course and the crew will be cleaning up those today. Corey is going to be training some of the crew on the Executive Nine mowing greens and rolling. Kurt and Nick are going to be working on replacing sod and filling drainage holes on the back nine greens. They will be setting the back nine for play today.

The crew was able to get all of the Excelsior mats into the storage trailers before the rain. Tremendous effort by the crew getting that done. We will be mowing some of the fine turf areas this week and if the fairways firm up we will look at getting them mowed before the weekend. The forecast looks very good for Saturday and Sunday but a cool down comes early next week.

On The Course April 1st

 We have made some very good progress so far this week. The front nine is open for play and we should have the back nine open later today. We are seeing a few small crown hydration spots on a couple greens but overall they look great. If they are dry enough today we will get a roll on them and look at mowing them later this week. There is going to be a nice warm up today with a chance of some afternoon thunderstorms. We are still pretty soft on the golf course and will remain cart path only until things firm up.

The main goal today is to get all of the covers in the storage trailers nice and dry. Once the covers are in the crew will be setting up the back nine for play. Fernando, Alfredo and Erik are working on cleaning up the front nine bunkers. Corey and a small group are blowing the chaff off the back nine greens. Kurt, Nick and Rubiel are working on hauling covers to the trailers.
